Kite Glass was thrilled to have been involved in the historic redevelopment of London Bridge Station. Established in 1836, London Bridge is the oldest railway in central London, as well as being one of the oldest in the world. The station provides access to some key attractions in London, including the Tower of London and The Shard, with trains serving a variety of destinations.

The latest upgrade, which started in 2013, includes a new concourse that’s larger than the pitch at Wembley, and five new platforms to help support the influx of passengers travelling through one of London’s busiest stations.

During the early stages of the project, Kite Glass provided extensive technical assistance and advice on the right specification required for the glass. This, combined with the positive reputation we have built up for our expertise in record keeping and quality standards, contributed to Kite Glass being chosen to supply the glass for this historic redevelopment. We work strictly to both manufacturing and performance standards so that our clients can rest assured that we always provide a fully compliant product of the highest quality.

We provided specialist structural glass for many parts of the station, including canopies, lift shaft glazing, screen printed signage and shop fronts. We supplied clear and low iron laminate glass, as well as triple-ply laminate glass to create an open, bright and striking new look for London’s oldest station.
